And today, after a check-up, it is believed that nine fisherman from Gloucester, Massachusetts, have lost their lives. Their ship, the fishing schooner with a double name the Edith and Eleanor, had a collision with the H ove Scotian steamer Gypsum Prince. The Indians are scantily clothed and have little food with them. They are in serious danger. The United Press explains that this is the time of t+te year when the Indians go hunting for pinion nuts. These are a delicious typ§ of nut which are found in the cone of pine tree. The Navajos and the Zunis started out and tramped and cl imbed to a high table­ land 70 miles out of the town of Gallup. Pinion nuts are plentiful in those parts. Then they were caught by the hand of winter, which has been lying heavy and frosty on the West. A violent blizzard caught the braves and squaws. Heavy snow-drifts piled up among the barren craggy hills. They were snow-bound on the top of a mesa. Fifty horsemen rode out of the town of Gallup today to battle their way through the snow, with supplies of food and clothing for the Indians. HOW TO BE LITTLE MOTHERS Mow comes what seems to be a new idea in the way of education for girls. At the Dalton Schools in Hew York girls of high-school age are to be given, not dolls to play with, but real live babies to take care of. Pour healthy infants of a month old are to be selected by medical authorities from among children whose mothers are employed during the day. The babies will be kept at the school during the daytime hours, when the mothers are at work# And the girl pupils will get a practical course of training in the cari of children and the profession of motherhood. In other words, the pupils, as a part of their regular school work, will act the role of little mothers.
