Howe t er, fifty years ago an English expedition pe,zetrated deep into New Gui,iea a,id tried to climb one of lite mountains that Carstensz had described. They jailed. Over the (Jast twenty-five yenrs the Dutch many times tried to climb these mountains, a,zd failed. Several New Zealand ex(Jeditio,as met that same fate. One of the highest is called Carstensz Pyramid. It's over sixteen thousand feet. Don Leahy, whom we have been visiting today, lfere in these mountains, now laas a coffee plantation way up in this high mountain country.
