Admitted Student Days Filled With Energy, Excitement

April 10, 2023 — Nearly a thousand prospective new Marist students visited campus April 1-2 to check out what may be their new home on the Hudson this fall, and hundreds more are registered to visit April 15.

Admitted Student Days give students and their families a chance to experience a “day in the life” at the College. Throughout the weekend, Marist President Kevin Weinman, faculty, current students, staff, and esteemed alumni met with prospective students and spoke with them about the unique mix of academic and student life experiences that Marist offers.

The Admitted Student Day experience was packed with lots to do, as attendees had the opportunity to:

  • Explore the Marist campus with tours of the College’s state-of-the-art facilities and top-ranked residence halls, while also grabbing a bite in the dining hall.
  • Connect with other admitted students at a ZeeMee meet and mingle.
  • Visit the student activities fair where more than 80 clubs and organizations were tabling to showcase the many ways Marist students can get involved.
  • Engage with faculty in the classroom to learn about the distinctive hands-on learning Marist offers its students as well as its #1 ranked Study Abroad program.

“I went to admitted student days at several schools as a high schooler, but when I walked onto the Marist campus, I knew this was the place I was meant to be,” said current Marist student Sara Guerette '25. “Ever since, Marist has become my home away from home, and these have been the best years of my life. I met the best friends I could ever ask for, and had opportunities only Marist could give to me.” 

Ring the Bell!
Throughout the weekend, a bell could be heard echoing through the rotunda in the Murray Student Center as the newest Red Foxes committed to Marist. It has become an Admitted Student Day tradition for prospective students to ring the bell and receive their choice of Marist merch when they make it official that day and commit to joining the next incoming class.
