“After the Arabs had freed Holy Arabia and Allenby had liberated all of Palestine up to a little bit north of this red line, they started on again. This time they took the Turks completely by surprise, and overwhelmed them. Allenby made a feint over at the right at the head of the Dead Sea, and made the Turks think that he was going to push up along the Jordan toward Galilee. But instead of pushing up along the Jordan by night nearly all of his army crept over to the Mediterranean coast many miles away and hid in the orange groves around Jaffa."
