This photo of the Aphrodite gave Lennart Åsberg the clue to locating his relatives in the United States. He submitted it to an agancy which identified ships, and they told him it was the steam yacht of Colonel Oliver Hazard Payne of Esopus NY

Many of these photos were obtained from the family collection sent by Lennert Åsberg from Sweden in 2009. Some photos have been cropped and retuched slightly to remove defects from age. The subject matters remain substantially the same. Other photos are derived from negatives supplied by Esther Osbert Hulsair
