Description
This map of a section of Fairview between Cedar Street and Fulton Street includes the section with housing along Albany Post Road. However, it also identified Permalife Company, a manufacturer of storage batteries using its patented method of inserting positive and negative terminals, and Soap Company, holder of patents on the manufacture of its soap. Liberty Starter Co manufactured electric starters powered by batteries for autos (earlier autos required hand cranking to turn the engine over).
