Woodcliff Pleasure Park
Item
Description
Some of us may remember the vacant pool, large enough to handle 4,000 swimmers in a session. The roller coaster had the steepest descent in the USA. Refreshments could be purchased in the restaurant located in the John F Winslow main house. John and Harriet Winslow owned the property from 1865 until Harriet's death about 1929.
Many people arrived at the park via the Hudson River Dayliner. Persons arriving by auto were parked across the street, in what became the parking lot for Western Publishing.
