Description
The tunnel as it looked in 2010. Anticipating more traffic after the completion of Longview Park, tunnel access was controlled by traffic signals. The buildings just above the railroad tracks are the Poughkeepsie Water Works.
There is a similar underpass at Quiet Cove, just north of the College that rovided access to the shore land. There is a boathouse at Quiet Cove which was used by the Naval Academy during the historic Poughkeepsie Regattas.
