liber 22 pp 351 - 353 Samuel Donaldson, town of New Paltz to John Donaldson, town of New Paltz
This Indenture made the tenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and six between Samuel Donaldson of the town of New Paltz in the County of Ulster and State of New York of the first part and John Donaldson of the same place of the second part.

Whereas Abraham Donaldson deceased by his last will and testament bearing date the sixteenth day of May one thousand eight hundred and five among other things therein contained did give bequeath and devise unto his two sons John and Samuel equal shares of the farm he then lived on with the premises appertaining thereto reference being had thereto may more fully appear. And whereas the said parties to these presents by mutual consent have now made partition and division thereof agreeable to the tenor of said will

Now this indenture Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the like release for his share of even date with these presents as also for the sum of one dollar lawful money of the United States of America to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath granted, bargained, sold, remised, released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell remise release and confirm unto the party of the second part (in his actual possession now being) and to his heirs and assigns forever

All that certain equal north half of said farm being the northerly part of the east half of lot number eleven one of the three mile or river lots in the north division of the Patent of New Paltz.

Beginning at Hudsons River in the division line of lot No 11 and lot No 12 being in the southeasterly corner of John Beaver lot and runs thence along the division line north seventy eight degrees west one hundred and sixteen chains (more or less) to the north easterly corner of Alexander Young’s lot then along a line of old marked trees south seven degrees west nineteen chains fifth links to two stones set up together in a tamarack swamp thence south seventy four degrees and forty minutes east one hundred and sixteen chains to Hudsons river aforesaid then up along the same as it runs about twenty four chains to the place of beginning, containing two hundred and fifty acres (more or less)

Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging (excepting and always reserving the site or grounds whereon the barn now stands with the priviledges in the release of equal date are contained also excepting and reserving to the party of the first part a sufficient and convenient road to the westerly part of said farm or lot and to his heirs and assigns forever

And the reversion and reversions rents issues and profits thereof. To have and to hold said northerly half of the east end of Lot Number Eleven as described (except as before excepted) to the party of the second part and to his heirs & assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the party of the second part & to his heirs and assigns forever

Also all the estate right title property possession claim & demand whatsoever of him the party of the first part his heirs and assigns.

In witness whereof the party of the first part hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.

On the seventeenth day of April one thousand eight hundred seventeen Isaac Le Fever one of the subscribing witnesses to the above deed well known to me appeared before me and on his oath declared that he was acquainted with Samuel Donaldson the grantor thereof in his life time & saw him execute the same as his voluntary act and deed and that he the said Isaac and Joseph Coddington subscribed their names thereto as witnesses. Let it be recorded.
