Brother Simeon had been a Marist for more than 71 years; he must have been in his very
late eighties. Simeon taught for many years in Tyngsboro when it was a juniorate and when
it was a novitiate, I believe. At least since 1991 he has been in semi-retirement at Mount
St. Michael. There, while doing what he could for the school and for the community, he
gathered funds for the missions by collecting and selling discarded aluminum cans. Known
by many of us as a pious person, even at last September’s GMC picnic he distributed prayer
cards. May Brother Simeon Gerald rest in eternal happiness, we pray.
