e've come
to the
end of a
long road; there
is a
lot
we
left behind us. But
a~
flADround
the bend,
in the
hazy future,
we see
the
magnitude of
the
vistas which
are to open before us, mountains
of
endeavor, high
and steep; valleys of difficulties,
narrow and long. But
even
though the future
seems
to tower
over
us,
we
do not
feel
weighed
down by the
years of
innumerable tomorrows that lie
before us. Why?
Balancing the
scale of time,
we
.
turn
from the future to the past;
from what will
be,
to what was. We feel that we have been prepared
through
these
past years
to meet
and
overcome what
the future
has
to
offer. We must
first
acknowledge
a debt
which
can only
be paid in the currency
of
prayer to those men
whose work
in the
past has been
our preparation for
the future. Yes, work and labor it has been
for
us and especially for them. At this time,
we
would like to
express just a
word
of
thanks to
one
man in particular
and
that is BROTHER ADRIAN. Be it neutrons
or
quarter notes, hymns
or shaving
cream, he
was
the man we turned
to, and
returned
from, with knowledge
satisfied,
and our needs supplied.
But
we want
to
go
beyond the
gossamer fabric of words and concretize
our
gratitude
in
action.
Hence, we dedicate to BROTHER ADRIAN, this
Year
Book
as
a
token to a fellow religious, worthy
of
much more than this,
which is
just
a
"Song
Of Gratitude".
:.
But this
gratitude
we want to
go on
through the
rest of our
days, to
him
and
to all
who
aided in making
our
memories
of these days,
pleasant
ones,
to
be cherished for the years to come. We hope that these
wishes will
remain
ever
with us until that day
when
we breathe
out
the final "Amen"
of our
Marist lives.

Bon
Voyage
O
n 1946, the first Chinese Brothers
(above - left)
arrived here at Marian College. This year,
1957, marks the year when the last group of Brothers
(above - right)
that escaped from Red
China are graduating. We take this opportunity to thank them for the fine Marist spirit and co-
operation they have shown. We wish them all the luck in the world, and assure them of our
prayers in the future.
