Marist
Collese QEYNAQD
1991
Introduction
1990-1991 was a time when the True Colors of Marist
shined through.
Our True Colors
-
our own hopes
,
aspirations
,
fears
-
were colored by what was going on in and around Marist as
1990-91 proved to be a mixture of somber and vibrant
tones
.
Our True Colqrs were muted by sadness: the death of
Brother Nilus Donnelly, the Persian Gulf War, and a reces
-
sion.
But our True Colors were also intensified by student
energy and campus change
.
From a victorious football team, to projects like the
Giving Tree, we all contributed some color and spirit to
Marist, to ourselves, and to the outside community
.
As seniors, the Class of 1991 has had a special relation-
ship with the campus -
Marist is not the same place some
of us first saw as Freshmen back in the fall of 1987
.
We have grown with Marist and have seen it expand
.
During
our years here, we have seen our range of colors
grow and intensify
.
Through Marist, we have broadened our own ranges of
hope and promise, that, like a rainbow
'
s True Colors, ex-
pand to greater distances and never fade
.

Editor's Note
\
\
In helping to put this yearbook together in three quick months, I would
like to thank the 1991 REYNARD staff, and especially Tom Kalament, Matt
Thomson, Don Ivanoff, Vickie Pratt, Matt Martin, Janette Marvin, Adria
Steckler and Kathleen Brault, Michael Gallo Farrell, and Thornton Studios
for all their photography, and the Office of Public Relations for help with the
Brother Nilus memorial.
Also, thanks to Bob Lynch and Kevin Byrne for their many suggestions
and advice; to Anne Savitsky for her work on the Faculty and Administration
sections; to Julie Goss and Jodi Ramey for their dedication with sales; and to
the fool-proof "copy staff' of Jen Forbes and Mercedes Rivero.
