Brother Michael, Principal and Teacher
Brother Michael Mullin, FMS, who was a principal at Mount St. Michael Academy in the Bronx and Our Lady
of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, died April 28, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was

He was at Mount St. Michael from 1998 until 2001 and at Our Lady of Lourdes from 2002 until 2006.
At the time of his death, he was a teacher at John S. Burke Catholic High School in Goshen.
He also served as executive director of the Religious Brothers Conference, 2001-2002, and as vocations
director for the Marist Brothers, 1975-1981.
Earlier, he was associate superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Metuchen, N.J. He also was a teacher,
administrator and assistant and vice principal at schools in New Jersey and Florida.
Born in Brooklyn, he entered the Marist Brothers in 1959 and professed final vows in 1965.
He held a bachelor's degree in Latin from Marist College, a master's degree in classics from Hunter College,
a master's in theology from the University of Notre Dame, and a master's in counseling from St. John's
University. He held a doctorate in education from Seton Hall University.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth.
A Funeral Mass was offered May 1 at St. Andrews Church in Bayonne, N.J. with burial in Marist Cemetery,
Esopus.
