In 1910 Bro. Mary Florentius is named the first “Master of Scholastics” on campus at age 21. He receives his State Life Certification in 1913. Previously, Scholastics took high school courses either in Poughkeepsie or at St. Ann’s Academy in NYC. In Summer 1910 tents serve as dorms and classrooms for summer studies. In November 1910 the Student Brothers [Scholastics] move from NYC to Poughkeepsie.
In 1911 two bungalows are built to house the Student Brothers, as well as summer retreatants. 70 Brothers arrive on 1 July 1911 for summer courses.
In 1911 also, BB. Legontianus [Leo] and Aloysius Mary build an intercom telephone system linking all campus buildings. This will serve until a public phone system is installed in 1942.
From 1911 to 1919 the Juniors take Regents exams with the students of St. Peter’s in Poughkeepsie.
In March 1911 the Province of the United States [St. Ann’s] splits from the Province of Canada. Bro. Ptolemeus is named Provincial of St. Ann’s Province.
