In February 1923 the Regents in Albany provisionally recognize the Juniorate and the Novitiate as accredited Junior and Senior high schools. This marks the end of the “tutelage” of St. Ann’s Academy, NYC. St. Ann’s Hermitage is now authorized to confer its own high school diplomas.
In 1923 it is decided that the Juniors must have completed Second Year of high school to be admitted to the Novitiate.

On June 6 1925 the Regents in Albany permanently accredit our campus high school as a Senior High School.
In 1925, for the first time, Fordham University authorizes us to give summer courses at St. Ann’s Hermitage. These courses include Algebra, Physics, and History of Modern Times. These are the first college courses offered on campus.

The Board of Regents is created in 1784. SUNY is established in 1948 to coordinate all existing tertiary public institutions and to set up as many new ones as possible. SUNY directs that “community colleges” be established in every county of NYS. Dutchess Community College is established in 1956. These community colleges award “Associates” degrees. All 2-year colleges before 1948 were Vocational or Teacher Training institutions. “AA” below means only the completion of a minimum of 60 credits in the Scholasticate by 1930 or later. Marian/Marist College has never awarded AA degrees.
