I am
caught
now and then
in a breeze
of
notions
Scattered
images and reflexions

of
dreams
A flowing multiplicity

merging into
one
An idea
grown strong
leading to the
verge
of motion
Where action alone
does fulfill
and our release is claimed
Yet in release
there are
ever
new beginnings
Cast on the
stage
of still deeper dreams

Marist College has witnessed many accomplishments in its history. Yet, as
any
institution
can witness
its
own accomplishments,
those
of Marist are
different.
They are different in the sense of Marist's own
uniqueness,
and the
uniqueness
of Marist
is in
its people. Every accomplishment of Marist
has
been
personally successful.
In
our four years at Marist College, the Class of
1975
has
seen and been a
part
of
all
that
has happened
at
Marist. We have
seen
the
accomplishments
of professors who
have
come and gone within the
past
four years, as well as
those
who
are
still
with us. We have
seen
the attainments
of the Classes
before us
in
the Marist
Community, and
realize that
those after
us
will fulfill
goals
in
making ouF College a
more viable
educational experience.
As we
look at
the achievements of Marist College,
we
see
the
personal
achievements of a solitary
figure
who
has been among us for
the
last fifty
years. The growth and accomplishments of Marist College have all been
seen through
the
eyes of this one man.
To this
individual, the
Class of
1975
and the Staff of
the
1975
Reynard
would like to dedicate their yearoook. We have
known him
as
the
printer
for many years-Brother Tarcisius,
F.M.S.
For the last thirty eight years, Brother Tarcisius has been running the
Marist
College Press.
He
arrived
in
Poughkeepsie
fifty
years ago as a
novice
at St. Ann's
Hermitage
on March 1,
1925.
In July
of that
same
year Brother
received the Holy Habit.
In
August
of
1927,
Brother
was
named
assistant
chief at
the Provincial House. This building
which is
no longer
standing, was
located
to
the north
of the swimming
pool.
During
this
time Brother
was
also assigned the
duty
of
printing the Bulletin
of Studies
for the United
States
Province. Other duties included were farming on the
property,
as well as
caring
for
the sick.
In
1938,
Brother Provincial asked BrotherTarcisius if
he
would be willing
to
start a print
shop.
Brother
accepted, and with equipment purchased in
town, the
first print
shop was started
in the casement
of St. Peter's. In
1948,
the Gymnasium was built
and
the
print
shop
was moved to the north
wing
of
this
building.
To
this
day, Brother is operating the print
shop
there.
Now,
after thirty seven years
of printing, Brother Tarcisius has announced
that the
print
shop will close arid tie will
retire in June
1975.
Marist
College has
been
Brother's
first
and
only assignment.
This
man has seen Marist College grow from a training school for the
Marist
Brothers,
to
the present co-educational
private
college that Marist
now
is. In his
own
quiet
way
he has helped
Marist College
through
its
fonnative years.
His
dedication to the spirit and the
Ideals
of Marist are
unmatched by all.
To Brother Tarcisius,
whom we
thank
for
his many
years of personal
accomplishments
at
Marist College, we
wish many more!

YEARBOOKS
Maloney'

Baloney
An Editorial
As the completion of
the 1975 REYNARD
comes to
hand, I
feel
it is time to reflect
back
on
the
year; and
to
what
has been
accomplished.
I had
a good staff
to work
with;
they
came
up with
id
eas,
and did their jobs
well.
I
thank them for
their
tim
e
and
energy
in
coming
through at the right times.
The
yearbook
at Marist is a
continuity
of a
tradition
that has begun over fifteen
years ago, however,
eac

a
different
story and
the REYNARD has
evolved with
the

year, many imputs are necessary.
If
for any
r
eason,
you, the reader, feel
that this yearbook
is
incomplete in any
way,
it
is your obligation
to
contact the
yearbook staff and
make
your
imput

From the staff of the REYNARD

IN MEMORY OF SHELLEY SPERLING
1957-1975
"Seeing
the
sins
of men, one
sometimes
wonders whether
one should
react
to
them
by force or
by humble love.
Always
decide to fight them
by
humble love.
If it is
carried
through,
the world can
be
conquered.
Humble
love
is the most
effective
force, the most terrific, the most
powerful,
unequaled
by any other
force in the
world."

I am

Scattered

A flowing multiplicity

An idea

leading to the

Where action alone
does fulfill
and our release is claimed
Yet in release
there are
ever
new beginnings
Cast on the

of still deeper dreams

Marist College has witnessed many accomplishments in its history. Yet, as
any
institution
can witness
its
own accomplishments,
those
of Marist are
different.
They are different in the sense of Marist's own
uniqueness,
and the
uniqueness
of Marist
is in
its people. Every accomplishment of Marist
has
been
personally successful.
In
our four years at Marist College, the Class of
1975
has
seen and been a
part
of
all
that
has happened
at
Marist. We have
seen
the
accomplishments
of professors who
have
come and gone within the
past
four years, as well as
those
who
are
still
with us. We have
seen
the attainments
of the Classes
before us
in
the Marist
Community, and
realize that
those after
us
will fulfill
goals
in
making ouF College a
more viable
educational experience.
As we
look at
the achievements of Marist College,
we
see
the
personal
achievements of a solitary
figure
who
has been among us for
the
last fifty
years. The growth and accomplishments of Marist College have all been
seen through
the
eyes of this one man.
To this
individual, the
Class of
1975
and the Staff of
the
1975
Reynard
would like to dedicate their yearoook. We have
known him
as
the
printer
for many years-Brother Tarcisius,
F.M.S.
For the last thirty eight years, Brother Tarcisius has been running the
Marist
College Press.
He
arrived
in
Poughkeepsie
fifty
years ago as a
novice
at St. Ann's
Hermitage
on March 1,
1925.
In July
of that
same
year Brother
received the Holy Habit.
In
August
of
1927,
Brother
was
named
assistant
chief at
the Provincial House. This building
which is
no longer
standing, was
located
to
the north
of the swimming
pool.
During
this
time Brother
was
also assigned the
duty
of
printing the Bulletin
of Studies
for the United
States
Province. Other duties included were farming on the
property,
as well as
caring
for
the sick.
In
1938,
Brother Provincial asked BrotherTarcisius if
he
would be willing
to
start a print
shop.
Brother
accepted, and with equipment purchased in
town, the
first print
shop was started
in the casement
of St. Peter's. In
1948,
the Gymnasium was built
and
the
shop
was moved to the north
wing
of
this
building.
To
this
day, Brother is operating the print
shop
there.
Now,
after thirty seven years
of printing, Brother Tarcisius has announced
that the
shop will close arid tie will
retire in June
1975.
Marist
College has
been
Brother's
first
and
only assignment.
This
man has seen Marist College grow from a training school for the
Marist
Brothers,
to
the present co-educational
private
college that Marist
now
is. In his
own
quiet
way
he has helped
Marist College
through
its
fonnative years.
His
dedication to the spirit and the
Ideals
of Marist are
unmatched by all.
To Brother Tarcisius,
whom we
thank
for
his many
years of personal
accomplishments
at
Marist College, we
wish many more!

YEARBOOKS
Maloney'
s
Baloney
An Editorial
As the completion of
the 1975 REYNARD
comes to
hand, I
feel
it is time to reflect
back
on
the
year; and
to
what
has been
accomplished.
I had
a good staff
to work
with;
they
came
up with
id
eas,
and did their jobs
well.
I
thank them for
their
tim
e
and
energy
in
coming
through at the right times.
The
yearbook
at Marist is a
continuity
of a
tradition
that has begun over fifteen
years ago, however,
eac
h
year is
a
different
story and
the REYNARD has
evolved with
the
school
and with each
and every graduati
n
g
class
. T
o
attempt to
tell
the
story of the
sc
hool
year, many imputs are necessary.
If
for any
r
eason,
you, the reader, feel
that this yearbook
is
incomplete in any
way,
it
is your obligation
to
contact the
yearbook staff and
make
your
imput
on next
year's
book.
From the staff of the REYNARD
and
myself,
we
se

best wishes to the class of

IN MEMORY OF SHELLEY SPERLING
1957-1975
"Seeing
the
sins
of men, one
sometimes
wonders whether
one should
react
to
them
by force or
by humble love.
Always
decide to fight them
by
humble love.
If it is
carried
through,
the world can
be
conquered.
Humble
love
is the most
effective
force, the most terrific, the most
powerful,
unequaled
by any other
force in the
world."
(Fyodor Dostoievski)

't
know what happens when people die,
Can't seem to grasp
it
as
hard
as
I
try,
It's like
a song
playing right in
my ear
But I
can't
s
ing, I
can't help
listening;
And7 can't help feeling stupid standing around.
Crying is the easier down-cause
I
know
you'd
rather
we were dancing
Dancing our
sor
row
s
away.
Right on dancing?
No matter what fate is choosing you to play
(there's
nothing
you
ca
n
do about it anyway)

Perhaps
a

drawing near,
Just as

Along

Don't let uncertainity turn

and
around)
Go

a

Into
a dancer you

seed that somebody else

go on ahead and

But you'll never know.
