Murray A. Russell

Georgetown's Crew Coach 1906-1907

Dr. Murray A. Russell graduated from Georgetown University in 1903.  He was captain of the 1902 crew and the 1903 crew that came second to Cornell at Poughkeepsie.  Russell was appointed in the fall of 1906 to replace Patrick Dempsey and would coach the crew for one year.

In December of 1907, he let the university know he would be unable to coach the crew in 1908 as he was a senior in medical school and could not coach the men while finishing his education.

Murray would go on to become a clinical professor of obstetrics.
