Columbia Boathouse
Located on the West shore of the Hudson River, north of Highland and the West Shore Railroad Station (on the river side of the train tracks)
Columbia University purchased property in 1912 to build a combination boathouse and quarters. The building had two stories with the first floor's walls constructed out of stone where shells and equipment were stored. The first floor also housed a shower and lockers for the crews. The second floor served as living quarters with a spacious veranda where crews could sleep outside if they chose. A second building was built to serve as kitchen and mess hall connected to the boathouse by a covered passageway. The boathouse later became a private residence and disappears from records in the 1990s. Its fate is unknown.
